SQC’s founder, Walter Routh, worked for 27 years in pharmaceutical stability where he saved millions of dollars by reducing unnecessary studies and excess testing, increasing efficiencies and improving planning and coordination with stakeholders. He did this while bringing the stability programs up to industry standards in technology and in logistical practices. This required coordinated harmonization of stability procedures and practices with 14 stability sites globally.
Walter’s work ranged from hands-on product stability coordination to managing the primary US stability and reference standard group. He has extensive practical experience in commercial stability issues, both on the storage and logistics side as well as on the scientific and regulatory side. As global stability manager, Walter pressed for cost savings and efficiency while making compliance the priority. At the time of his retirement in 2022 Walter’s US stability program alone managed over 1500 active studies for over 40 product families.
